What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They help websites function properly by remembering your preferences and session information.
How Ember uses cookies
Ember uses strictly necessary cookies only. We do not use any tracking, analytics, advertising, or third-party marketing cookies.
| Cookie / Storage | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supabase session token | Cookie / Local Storage | Keeps you securely logged in to your Ember account | Session (expires on logout or after inactivity) |
| Shopping cart state | Local Storage | Remembers the items you've added to your order while browsing a restaurant's menu | Until you complete or clear your order |
Why we don't show a cookie consent banner
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive, the Ghana Data Protection Act 2012, and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, cookies that are strictly necessary for providing a service you have explicitly requested are exempt from consent requirements.
Since Ember uses only strictly necessary cookies (login sessions and shopping cart), and does not use any optional, analytics, or advertising cookies, no cookie consent banner is legally required.
We believe in transparency: even though consent is not required, we explain exactly what cookies we use and why on this page.
No third-party tracking
Ember does not:
- Use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising tracker
- Set cookies on behalf of third-party advertisers
- Build browsing profiles or sell cookie data
- Use fingerprinting or similar tracking technologies
